MARIE CHERY, B.S.N., R.N. Country Director- Haiti
Marie Chery is the Country Director and nurse specialist for Project Medishare. She is dedicated to improving the health of the Haitian people by re-establishing the health infrastructure in several communities and facilities throughout Haiti. Chery oversees all of the programs and employees in the Central Plateau of Haiti. She also serves as strategic leader for Project Medishare for all programs around the country.
Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Haitian Creole, Chery uses her linguistic skills to manage the training of local health specialists, as well as coordinating and implementing community health, child protection, agriculture, and education programs. Chery has an extensive background working with HIV/AIDS patients. As a certified HIV and AIDS practitioner, trainer and counselor, Chery has worked with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for more than 10 years focusing her efforts on HIV and AIDS outreach programs throughout the various communities of Miami-Dade County, including Little Haiti.
Chery is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care and the Haitian-American Nurses Association. In 1977, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in science from City College of New York.
