I am not gonna say lots of things, I was just wanted to say thanks to EMPACT NW, to Project Medishare ( this is where I am working as a translator, code cart tchecker in the ICU, ER and in the OR on night shift since January 2010, right after the hearthquake till now, after spending a month and a half by working as a volunnteer, ...) , to City of Miami beach, American Red Cross, United Worldwide, ... for coming down here in Haiti to start this great and big thing to help Haiti's children take care of themselves, of Haiti, and of all of us in any or in whatever situation that we may got through, in whitch I am part!
Thanks specially to Mrs. Gabby because after God if it wasn't her I wouldn't be one these 14 wonderful, proffetional, and qualified EMTs that Haiti has now. Also thanks to Mr. Armadeus, Mr. Jake, and all of the instroctors and students that were working to make this so successful, ..........

Thank you God, thank you United States of America, and thank you Haiti for all.

Hi, I was recently working in the pediatrics unit at Bernard Mevs and was able to care for Frantz. Upon returning home I spoke with my Uncle about how Frantz has no where to go once he is ready to leave the hospital. My Uncle has been in contact with an Orphanage in Haiti (60miles from Port au Prince). I am hoping to be in contact with the owner of the Orphanage (also from Canada) and get Frantz a spot! Attached to this orphanage is a school (P-9) and my uncle is currently working on the curriculum for a vocational school that is soon to be built. I would love to see Frantz get to a safe, stimulating environment.

Hello Karen,

I don't know if you would remember me, I'm Kat Balagtas, and I volunteered at BM and did ICU nights, 3 different times, and 2 of those times were with you as the director. I was particularly drawn to the paragraph in your post about the Haitian nurses. I kinda know what you mean about the Haitian nurses, feeling the "standoffish" vibe at first...my first couple times were rocky and it wasn't until my third visit that I think I might have finally connected with them. They are wonderful and sweet, it just took some time to finally get to really see it. They care very much about their people and I wish so much they could have been afforded the educational opportunities we were. With people you like, they are one step closer, and while I am sure you don't need anyone else's gratitude and praise other then the Haitians you helped, I commend you for all that time you gave to them. I wish I could be able to the same!

Take care and best wishes to you in your career's next chapter!
